Verne Becott
Sr. Advisor
Verne spent 33 years as an educator at St. George’s School, most recently guiding students as a university counsellor (2015–2025) and previously leading the Senior School’s Social Studies Department (2010–2015). Over his career, he supported generations of students who went on to attend top universities worldwide and build successful careers.
Beyond counselling, Verne was deeply engaged in student life, serving as a long-time faculty leader for the school’s signature Model United Nations program.
During his time at St. George’s, Verne also collaborated closely with KEY on university counselling. Their shared students earned admission to many of the world’s top institutions, including Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, Oxford, Duke, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Georgetown, UCLA, and more.
At KEY, Verne focuses on crafting competitive application strategies, identifying strong program and major fits, and helping students develop unique, differentiated profiles to succeed in gaining admission to the most selective universities.
